Interviews
For the Nevada 150th PBL we interviewed teachers and alumni of the Clark County School District. Questions included how Nevada is doing with education, how Nevada's education has changed, and where Nevada's education is headed.
The Discovery Children's Museum
In Nevada there are many opportunities for children and teens to receive an educational experience outside of school. The Children's Discovery museum is an amazing opportunity in Nevada, for children to have a fun and educational time. The museum includes ten exhibits for children to play and learn many new things. On March 9th they celebrated their one year birthday, so we went and volunteered for the day. During the day we were volunteering in Eco City which is the exhibit where kids can go and learn what is to have a job and different opportunities to go green. The exhibit includes a Smith's, Jamba Juice, Construction Zone, Animal Clinic, Airport, Well's Fargo, and Car Care Center. Kids can go and pretend to work at any of the job sites and then they can get paid in fake money which they can deposit into their ATM account. The other exhibits include The Summit, Water World, Fantasy Festival, Toddler Town, It's Your Choice, Patents Pending, Solve It, Young at Art, and a traveling exhibit which at the time was Mind Benders Mansion.
